Don't help me, it's pointless Only I can do this Don't help me, it's fruitless Only I can get through this Just love me and see me Accept me and hold me Just love me and see me Accept me and hold me Don't help me, it's pointless Only I can see me through this I'll be there on the other side when you do this Help me, it's pointless Love me, it's fruitless Help me, this is pointless Fruitless, I can't do... Help me, it's fruitless I need you to see me through this I'm losing sight of the other side I'm losing sight of the other side I love you and I need you And I please you when I see you I'll be there on the other side when you do this I'll be there on the other side when you do this

My Daddy told me I was born and bred here Born and bled here I think This country found by white hands I don't believe that And I won't feed that Helpless notions of holiness Young patriots, naive atheists Drape that flag over your back Like you know this land You've just been shown a plan Lord, He won't help you No one can help you Who's a savage now? First found freedom all those years back But you were scared of that So you wiped it out Now you're scared again 'cos you lost God But you won't work it out You'll just bleed it out Lord, He won't help you No one can help you Who's a savage now? Who's a savage now?

Home 06:14
Can you feel the sun? Warm tears fall as it rises And will this empty feeling Be present when it sets? People walk 'round the roadside All with their incessant smiling Please don't hold out your hand I, my friends, am going nowhere And is this really what I call home? Your majesty, your majesty, I'm leaving Leaving White fires light the night sky Where are we in this great mess? All I see is the outside Superficial means uneasy And is this really what I call home? Your majesty, your majesty, I'm leaving Leaving

This black rock cradles its heart In the limelight Of course I'm able Don't you want to fight? Lai dai da dai, oooh, darling Lai dai da dai Some kind of fable in my dreams Letting in the light I won't be laden With my own lack of sight I keep on sighing When I'm in this grindin' This black rock cradles its heart In the limelight Some kind of fable in my dreams Letting in the light

She Breathes 04:15
She comes And She goes again, again She moves She stands still again, again She speaks But the words don't make a sound She bleeds And She's well again, again She knows But just Her heart can speak the truth She breathes And releases all the pain Her love is the rain Rain... She the breeze, He the sand The lines in our hands She comes She goes again, again She moves She stands still again She speaks But the words don't make a sound She bleeds And She's well again, again

Opening 04:30
The salt in the breeze The holes in the carpet And the sighs of this life Screamin' fly through the night Unfurl these wings The way over others And the way over Oneself And the type of tide you cry And the strength of your light Are yours to decide Darling, darling My darling Without the sounds of life I can't breathe This work, this love and the will to see That it's opening up It's opening up The seeds in the garden The sound of the strings That the angels play to me Breathing consciousness through me Unfurl these wings Unfurl these wings Unfurl these wings Darling

Come Winter 06:57
Come winter I'll be free Come winter I will see again What I had forgotten What I Come winter I'll be free The cold will snap me outta this Blood again flows through my lips A new and open door And all will be released And all will be released The time has come to see The time has come to bleed again The seeds in my heart Are opening it up The time has come to be An open hand and not a fist And I'll no longer need this list Of the things you've done to me And all I have been will be released And all I have been will be released Come winter... And all I have been will be released And all I have been will be released Come winter...

Lazy Eye 04:13
You've got this lazy eye You hide away from Every lover in sight And I think maybe It has more of a clue Than you think you do You think you do You've got this lazy eye That I'm in love with I can't keep it from my mind Hey, hey lady What's that you ask, How am I? Well, lazy eye Well, lazy eye... I won't be found I'm a river, babe It's where I stay I've found the sound And I won't be saved No, not this day I won't be found I'm a river, babe It's where I stay I've found the sound And I won't be saved No, not this day Not this day

about

This album is a collection of songs from various times in my life, relating to various - and of course infinite - things. The songs have no particular meaning; they mean different things as time marches on, as well as what they meant at their time of conception. They also mean what you feel them to mean, and I hope they continue to renew themselves to new people and in different ways, as they do for me.

A huge and massively heartfelt thanks to Ben Fickler (Birdwood Records) for co-creating this album with me and bringing these songs into new life; for helping me write parts and pushing me in different directions throughout the process. The man is an exceptional wizard who I'd recommend to anyone, not just for recording but for his wonderfully insane presence. A beautiful reflection of my own beautiful insanity, if ever I saw one, and a killer practitioner of that all-encompassing love that knows when to give a necessary nudge.

The process of making this album was a really interesting one. Many of the sounds you're hearing were originally written by me, but re-created by Ben electronically, with some of the original parts being used and others discarded. A lot of improvised parts were taken and expanded upon, as well as new parts added in solos or musical sequences. Much of the music, aside from some acoustic guitars and the drum in Heya Kia (and Nele's violin playing) was created or re-created by Ben.

Thanks so much to Drew Campbell for the album art. Another great wizard, with talents flowing ceaselessly from his pale white behind. Sometimes I think there may not be a thing that he cannot do when he puts his mind to it. An influence in life, also. Big love.

Endless and boundless infinities of love to Julie Beaumont and my Mum - two of the greatest ladies in my life.

Julie, whose energy flows throughout so many creations that come through me, is actually also a co-writer of all of these songs. Her spirit is always and indelibly in my heart, and the gratitude I feel for the existence, presence and love of such a being in my life evokes an endless flow of tears, all of which I watch flow so graciously back to the sea, reminding me over and over of what all this is.

And Mum, well - I came out of her vagina, so that creative process sort of speaks for itself. She is also a master Mamma, with many degrees in psycho-ology, and has shown me far too many things about the entire spectrum of love. For those of you who appreciate my being, send gratitude her way.

Both of these women grow rather perplexed when I rant about their influence on me, which I enjoy to no end. May our reflections in spirit continue to birth new and challenging things, wherever the worldly path takes us.

And last of all, thanks to me. Good work, Chris. Keep going, I love what you do.

Chris Emmerson Music Wentworth Falls, Australia

Blue Mountains based songwriter/musician, ever penning the endless melodies running up and down and through the old soul channel. Shamelessly drawn to all things expressive and creative - which perhaps is all things, in a way; but perhaps the more active displays, whereby one might, lettuce say, have some thing or two to say... ... more
